Steve Saville

Steve Saville is a writer, educator and creative thinker at Telling Your Stories, bringing a lifetime of experience in education and a deep belief in the power of creativity and narrative to every project he works on.

A former foundation Principal of Rolleston College, Steve has spent his career exploring how great learning happens, from leadership and curriculum design to creativity and narrative pedagogy. At Telling Your Stories, he brings that experience to the page, researching and crafting stories that are rich in character, imagination and a genuine sense of place.

Steve is also an illustrator and lifelong doodler, with a natural instinct for the relationship between words and images. He loves finding the characters, details and unexpected moments that make a story memorable for tamariki and rangatahi.

At the heart of Steve’s work is a love of a really good story — one with personality, curiosity and enough imagination to make you want to keep turning the page.
